Connect your email to Signelli Mail

Signelli Mail works with any email over standard IMAP/SMTP. For most custom-domain mailboxes you just enter your normal password and click Auto-Detect. The big consumer providers below need a free, one-time app password instead — here's how.

Why an app password?

Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, Outlook and AOL no longer accept your main account password in third-party apps. Instead you turn on two-step verification once, then generate a dedicated 16-character password just for Signelli Mail. It only works for mail, can be revoked anytime, and never exposes your real password.

Gmail

Turn on 2-Step Verification in your Google Account (Security).
Open myaccount.google.com/apppasswords.
Create an app password named "Signelli Mail" and copy the 16-character code.
In Signelli Mail, enter your Gmail address, click Auto-Detect, and paste the app password.

Yahoo Mail

Go to Account Security → App passwords.
Turn on 2-step verification if prompted, then generate an app password.
Paste it into Signelli Mail after Auto-Detect.

iCloud Mail

Sign in at account.apple.com.
Under Sign-In and Security, choose App-Specific Passwords and generate one.
Use your full @icloud.com address and the generated password in Signelli Mail.

Outlook / Hotmail

Enable two-step verification, then open account.live.com/proofs/AppPassword.
Create an app password and paste it into Signelli Mail.
Work/school (Microsoft 365) accounts that enforce modern authentication may block password sign-in entirely — check with your admin.

AOL Mail

Turn on 2-step verification in Account Security.
Generate an app password and paste it into Signelli Mail.

Everything else (custom domains)

Mailboxes like you@yourbusiness.com — Hostinger, Google Workspace, Namecheap, Zoho, Fastmail, cPanel/Plesk hosts and more — usually work with your normal password. Enter your address, click Auto-Detect, and Signelli Mail fills in the server settings for you.
